There's something very familiar about it, and something that's really not. The original Real Deal Brazil recycled-tarp hat is sort of like a fedora, sort of like an Aussie Outback hat -- except after a full day spent atop Indiana Jones as he's being beaten and dragged to within an inch of his life. From color shifts to wild and jagged stitching, ragged patches, stains, frays, punctures and even occasional ink marks, every uncommon characteristic of the Original RDB hat hints at the story of its prior life as a lonely truck tarp, and its rough journeys through harsh elements in the starkly shifting climates of Brazil. It's such a cool history for a hat to have that we actually print a short version of it inside each crown! The original Real Deal recycled-tarp hat is handcrafted in a remote town in equatorial Brazil, where recycling actually informs nearly every aspect of production, from the salvaged tarp scraps being applied as patches on other hats right down to the heavy wire hidden within each brim. That thin band of steel, reclaimed from trash-bound old truck tires, adds yet another element of uniqueness, allowing you to shape your own RDB pretty much any way you please! Authentic, rugged and effortlessly cool -- find another head-topper that can top that!

Awesome hat

This is a slightly larger hat than most 3XL hats I’ve had in the past - not so much that it blows off though. Extremely comfortable - I love it. Only downside is apparently it makes me look a little like an Australian. Top hat. Will buy more.

Big head caps are the only hats/caps that fit my husband. He just bought the RDB tarp hat in 3X and it kept the sun off his face all day while we were at the lake on a windy day - and it didn't blow off either! Great fit, and he said the material was very comfortable. Thank you!!

Best hat I've ever worn. Perfect for the Southwest. Having had basal cell carcinoma, I have orders from my doc to wear one. Takes a hellacious beating and still looks great. Strangers have come up to me and say they like my hat (not me, just my hat, haha). Just ordered a spare for myself and one for my son. Fantastic product!

Shiftless Layabout

I have a head that's large enough to have smaller heads orbiting around it, so finding hats that fit is a bit of an epic journey. Stumbled across this website and immediately knew I'd found what I was looking for. Placed an order for the RDB Tarp Hat. Took a bit longer to receive due to the uselessness of the USPS but after contacting the Customer Support line, they immediately made arrangements for me to receive a replacement hat, which I'll send back cause the original one finally arrived ha ha ha. And I couldn't love it more, it is one of the most comfortable hats I've ever worn. I love the beat up look to it and the fact that I can shape it constantly since I'm never really happy lol. Between the excellent product and the superb customer service, bighead caps will always get my business.
